In this work, the artist turns to personal impressions of the northern landscape — particularly the Kola Peninsula, which holds a special place in her creative experience. The painting captures a quiet, almost meditative moment of walking along the beach at low tide, when the world seems to pause and offer its mirrored depth to the eye. At the center of the composition is a fragment of two figures in bright yellow rubber boots, reflected in the wet sand. The mirrored doubling softens the silhouettes, transforming them into poetic shadows that appear at the boundary between water and land. The minimalistic palette and the restrained imagery heighten the sense of calm and contemplation, leaving space for the viewer’s own emotional response. The work conveys the atmosphere of the northern landscape — austere, quiet, yet filled with an inner light — turning a fleeting observation into a metaphor for memory and presence.

About the artist

An artist from Minsk who transforms ordinary things into personal stories. Her works are born from emotions — intimate, delicate, and honest. Exgyryd began with illustrations about herself and her feelings, sometimes turning them into small animations. Over time, she found a unique medium: miniature plaster fences. These became her canvases — a way to bring gentle, introspective art into the urban world. Each fence is a reflection, a fragment of her inner landscape. Through these fragile walls, Exgyryd shows that even barriers can become bridges — connecting the private with the public, and the artist with the city. The gallery is proud to present Exgyryd’s work, where sincerity and form meet in poetic balance.
