The work is a delicate graphic composition in which the image of a mushroom merges with motifs of traditional ornament and organic forms. Detailed hatching transforms the object into an allegorical symbol where nature, culture, and mythology intertwine. The inner structure of the drawing evokes hidden layers of memory — suggesting how traces of the past, rituals, and visual codes remain embedded within familiar shapes. The natural form becomes a vessel of cultural meaning, shifting from a botanical depiction to a metaphorical one. The piece creates a sense of meditative immersion: it is both intricate and enigmatic, leaving room for interpretation and personal reading.

About the artist

The artist working under the pseudonym Cowek is Yevgeny, originally from Lida. His creative journey began in childhood and has been evolving for more than two decades. His first street artwork, created in 2001, still remains in its original place — a lasting marker of the beginning of his artistic path. Yevgeny received his professional training at the A.K. Hlebov State Art College and later at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, where he specialized as an artist, sculptor, and educator. His practice spans a wide range of visual art forms: sculpture, graphics, painting, graffiti, and street art. He has also worked in art restoration and in a mosaic-making workshop, which has significantly expanded his technical and artistic expertise. Cowek has participated in and organized numerous exhibitions and festivals both in Belarus and abroad. He is one of the founders of the street art community SIGNAL (2011–2015), which played an important role in promoting and shaping public awareness of street art in the country. The community organized exhibitions, lectures, and — in 2013 — the first mural festival in Mogilev, a landmark event in the development of Belarusian street art. The gallery is proud to collaborate with Cowek, as he is one of the most multifaceted and influential figures on the contemporary Belarusian art scene. His extensive professional experience, his contribution to the growth of street art culture, and his distinctive artistic style make his involvement in the gallery’s projects especially valuable and significant.
